Job Opportunity

A challenging and exciting engineering role in Linux-based infrastructure and applications is available. This position requires a technologist with a passion for Linux and open source to work on almost any aspect of Ubuntu and the open source applications large enterprise customers run.

The successful candidate will help with troubleshooting and driving issues to resolution with workarounds, guidance, and bug fixes to be released upstream and in Ubuntu. They will also participate in upstream communities, develop bug fixes, backport patches, and work with upstream for inclusion.

  • Resolve complex customer problems related to Ubuntu, Kernel, Ceph, OpenStack, or Kubernetes and other open source software.
  • Maintain a close working relationship with technical teams.
  • Participate in team discussions to improve processes, tools, and documentation.
  • Maintain clear, technical and concise communications.

We are looking for an exceptional academic track record, background in Computer Science, STEM or similar, experience with Linux and open source software, and experience with at least one of Python, Go, C or C++ on Linux.

Nice-to-have skills include loving technology and working with talented professionals, being curious, flexible, articulate, and accountable, and valuing soft skills and being passionate, enterprising, thoughtful, and self-motivated.
