Job Title: DC Machine Operator

Dis-Chem Pharmacies is seeking a skilled DC Machine Operator to join our team at the New Germany Distribution Centre in KwaZulu Natal. As a key member of our logistics team, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and accurate picking, replenishment, and counting of stock within the warehouse.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate reach trucks and other machinery to transport goods within the warehouse
  • Ensure accurate and efficient picking, replenishment, and counting of stock
  • Verify the condition of the machine and report any maintenance issues to the supervisor
  • Ensure the machine operator agreement is understood and signed
  • Wear safety harness when necessary
  • Pack away or transport stock within the building, following instructions from the scanner
  • Ensure material on pallets is stable, neat, and evenly distributed for safe transportation
  • Ensure orders are picked accurately and loaded into the system-guided coloured tote or box
  • Drop off completed orders at the correct checking area or conveyor
  • Assist the inventory controller or stock controller with inventory counts and stock movements
Requirements:
  • Grade 12 or Senior Certificate
  • Valid Reach Truck Licence
  • Knowledge of Distribution Centre, logistics, and supply chain operations
  • English – Read, write, and speak

Special Conditions of Employment:
  • South African citizen
  • MIE, clear criminal and credit
  • Driver's license and/or own reliable transport
  • Must be able to lift boxes up to 20 kg
  • Be able to work any shift, including day, night, weekends, holidays, and overtime
