Financial Modeling and Investment Analyst

We are seeking a Financial Modeling and Investment Analyst to join our team at CELA - Clean Energy Latin America. The successful candidate will have expertise in financial modeling, project finance, and corporate finance, with a strong background in the electricity sector.

Job Description

As a Financial Modeling and Investment Analyst, you will be responsible for building complex financial models for existing demands and new technologies in the energy sector. Your duties will include:

  1. Creating detailed financial models to analyze investment opportunities.
  2. Conducting valuation, due diligence, and feasibility analysis of projects.
  3. Modeling and analyzing optimal capital structure, fundraising via project finance and/or corporate finance, and detailed analysis of cost of capital and returns.
  4. Constructing and evaluating sensitivities and scenarios.
  5. Assisting other areas in creating financial modeling and analysis tools when necessary.

Additionally, you will work closely with our team to provide strategic advice on fundraising, project financing, mergers and acquisitions, and more.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To succeed as a Financial Modeling and Investment Analyst, you will need to possess:

  1. A degree in Administration, Engineering, Economics, or related fields. Postgraduate degrees and certifications like CFA are a plus.
  2. Domain expertise in corporate finance, accounting, financial modeling, project finance, and valuation.
  3. Minimum 3 years of experience in project modeling and valuation.
  4. Fluent English.
  5. Previous experience in the electricity sector, renewable energy projects, energy transition, auctions, and infrastructure projects is a plus.
