Project Manager - Supply Chain Job Description

The role of Project Manager - Supply Chain is a crucial one, as it entails overseeing supply chain projects of varying complexity and size in assigned teams.

Main Responsibilities
  • Strategy Development: Contribute to the design of the Supply Chain strategy by advising Supply Chain management on project feasibility.
  • Business Case Creation: Prepare business cases, designs related project plans, and coordinate their execution upon approval by sponsor(s) and steering committee(s).
  • Reporting: Report to Managers.
Project Management
  • Customer Engagement: Engage directly with customers (both internal and external) to understand broad supply chain requirements, develop customer solutions, and demonstrate related components and value position.
  • Project Planning: Create cohesive project programs and plans with identifiable critical paths, task dependencies, and major milestones, and manage the approved plans and schedules for successful completion within scope, budget, time, and quality parameters.
  • Risk Mitigation: Track deadlines, costs, and resource allocation to mitigate risks of failure.
  • Team Building: Build relationships with team members regarding project status, requirements, and benefits.
People Management
  • Work Direction: Provide work direction to the project team.
  • Performance Evaluation: Contribute to the annual human resources processes by providing feedback to line managers regarding performance of project team members.
  • Capability Development: Work with the respective line managers and HR Business Partner(s) in developing a project management capabilities in the Supply Chain & Planning function.
  • Talent Development: Contributes to the development and promotion of functional talents within and outside the function.
