As a VAT senior manager, you will be responsible for designing and implementing VAT controls to manage our diverse businesses. This role will focus on Brazilian VAT, identifying and mitigating VAT risks, managing quality control, and implementing process improvements.
The ideal candidate will have strong project management skills, understanding of financial systems, and technical accounting knowledge. Responsibilities include working with the VAT Compliance team, participating in cross-functional business projects, and providing support and advice to tax colleagues and business teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work with the VAT Compliance team to improve controls and reduce risk
- Participate in cross-functional project launches, from scoping to testing and launch
- Contribute to the FAS 5 VAT provision process
- Collaborate with internal business partners to define, implement, review, and improve quality control
- Provide audit support and data analysis review processes
- Support and advise Tax colleagues and Business and Accounting teams related to internal controls and process
Required Skills:
- Experience in VAT compliance in Brazil
- Team player with a hands-on attitude
- Good communicator with excellent inter-personal skills
- Problem solver
- Organized, analytical, and methodical with strong attention to detail
- Confident MS Excel user
- Able to take ownership and responsibility for work under minimal supervision
- Ability to work under tight deadlines and pressure
- 10+ years of experience in VAT compliance and consulting
- Analytical, auditing, and compliance skills
- Experience of accounting and audit methods and systems
- Demonstrated ability to participate in milestone-driven projects
- Strong desire to exceed expectations
- Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills
- Strong organizational and project management skills
