Overview
The Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing and directing activities within the production and materials handling sectors, ensuring a safe, efficient, and profitable operational environment. The focus is on achieving key performance indicators while driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as a vital member of the local leadership team, enhancing performance across production and materials handling.
- Foster a culture of innovation by challenging existing practices and identifying opportunities for enhancement, including spearheading initiatives aimed at elevating performance, profitability, and safety standards.
- Utilize coaching and dialogue to ensure team development, identifying training needs to support individual growth and meet organizational objectives.
- Uphold compliance with corporate policies and principles across all operational areas.
- Manage the production and materials handling program, focusing on process optimization and quality assurance, while developing solutions to potential challenges.
- Actively contribute to achieving unit objectives and targets, striving for excellence in all operational metrics.
- Implement strategies to reduce operational costs, minimize losses, and enhance overall plant efficiency.
- Oversee the execution of various management initiatives.
- Promote a culture of Operational Excellence and GoalZero Safety Performance throughout all production stages, addressing operational issues with clarity and factual analysis. Encourage innovation through a structured suggestion program.
- Lead improvement projects across all process stages, continually pursuing operational excellence.
- Provide technical and operational guidance to the industrial management team.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience in industrial settings.
- Background in management or coordination roles within manufacturing environments.
- Proficiency in English (advanced/fluent).
- Familiarity with tools such as APQP, FMEA, and MASP.
- Knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and IATF standards.
Preferred Qualifications
- Postgraduate degree or MBA in Industrial Management is advantageous.
- Basic computer skills including ERP systems, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Experience in People Management and Development Coaching.
- Familiarity with industrial processes.
- Ability to collaboratively solve problems within multidisciplinary teams.
- Experience managing performance indicators in production.
- Possess a systemic perspective and understanding of business and market trends.
- Desirable skills include planning manufacturing activities.
