Backend Software Engineer Position Summary

We are seeking a skilled backend software engineer to design, develop, and maintain scalable, reliable, and efficient backend services using Kotlin. The successful candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams to build high-quality systems that meet the needs of our users.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement backend services in Kotlin, ensuring scalability, reliability, and efficiency.
  • Develop APIs that are easy to consume and integrate with other systems.
  • Write clean, tested, and observable code that meets industry standards.
  • Collaborate with product and design partners to refine features and ensure seamless integration.
  • Review peer code and promote best practices for coding standards, testing, and security.
  • Diagnose and resolve production issues with root cause focus and apply secure coding standards across the stack.
  • Maintain clear technical documentation and support CI/CD pipelines for faster delivery.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in backend software development.
  • Production-level Kotlin experience and SaaS application development with modern cloud services.
  • API-driven systems background, including experience with relational databases at scale.
  • Exposure to containerized, microservice-based systems, including Docker, Kubernetes, and container orchestration tools.
  • Experience with Java, AWS, PostgreSQL, Microservices, RESTful APIs, API Design, Unit Testing, Integration Testing, TDD, Agile Development, System Design, Cloud Functions (AWS Lambda or equivalent), CI/CD, and GIT.
