Scientific Professional

A scientific professional is sought to develop and maintain peer-to-peer relationships with key medical experts and healthcare professionals. This role will primarily support the company's Acromegaly program.

• This position is responsible for collaborating with physicians and other medical experts to support trial enrollment, provide programming and protocol training, and ensure that health care professionals have the most up-to-date information as clinical development programs mature.
• The MSL will serve as a conduit for external scientific engagement and internal strategic alignment, contributing to evidence generation, medical education, and cross-functional support.

• Develop and maintain peer-to-peer collaborations and relationships with key opinion leaders (KOLs) in the community.
• Provide scientific support for pre-launch initiatives, including medical congresses, advisory boards, and educational events.
• Tactical delivery of programs according to established objectives and serve as a resource for education and dissemination of pertinent, clear, and balanced medical-scientific information to internal audiences (Marketing, Medical Affairs, Research & Development, and Sales) and external audiences (healthcare professionals, consumers, patient organizations, distributors, etc.).
• Support clinical development initiatives including site identification, trial recruitment, registry, and presentation of final approved data.
• Collaborate with physicians on medical affairs initiatives including publications, advisory boards, medical education opportunities, training, and speaker development.
• Serve as a scientific peer-to-peer resource to external disease experts and internal stakeholders.
• Support the medical community with up-to-date medical information, robust disease expertise, and product information.
• Communicate clinical insights on new data to the company Medical Affairs and to inform medical strategy for the therapeutic area.
• Train internal stakeholders on key scientific and medical topics in relevant therapeutic areas.
• Develop an understanding of the regional landscape including specialties involved in care of patients.
• Maintain effective and appropriate communication among internal stakeholders while maintaining full compliance with relevant requirements.
• Generate tactical regional plans to provide needs-based, value-added support of the medical and scientific community in-line with company goals.
• Use systems to strategically map, identify, profile, and prioritize thought leaders in line with the medical plan and goals.
• Maintain accurate reporting and documentation of MSL activities.

• Bachelor's degree in chemistry, biology, pharmacy, or other medical-related disciplines.
• Advanced degree preferred.
• 12 years of professional experience.
• At least 5 years of experience in Medical Affairs or Medical Science roles.
• Robust and current clinical development experience supporting drugs to treat rare diseases; prior endocrinology disease experience, preferred.
• MSL and/or strong scientific experience in endocrinology, and specifically growth hormone-related disorders, preferred.
• Pre-launch experience is highly preferred.
• Excellent written, oral, communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
• Solid interpersonal and communication skills; demonstrated relationship builder. Ability to work well across teams to communicate relevant insights and drive strategy.
• Candidates must understand compliance considerations and demonstrate ability to work compliantly in a field-based role, within the medical organization, as well as across the commercial organization.

Up to 70%. Willingness to travel extensively across the region, including nights/weekends.
