Job Title: Humanities (History) Teacher

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Humanities (History) Teacher to join our Secondary section at St. Nicholas Pinheiros. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching Humanities and History to students in the International Baccalaureate (IB) Programmes.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Participate in collaborative planning, preparation, and organisation of teaching and learning based on IB Programmes.
  • Implement the IB Middle Years Programme and the IB Diploma Programme in Integrated Humanities and History.
  • Contribute to unit plans for both interdisciplinary and subject-specific units.
  • Apply best pedagogical practice, based on a detailed knowledge of teaching and learning strategies curated for the MYP/DP classroom.
  • Be enthusiastic about professional development and show a commitment to developing your practice and that of your colleagues.
  • Support all learners based on their individual needs and liaise with relevant professionals where necessary.
  • Be part of the Pastoral team in Secondary School and engage with the holistic nature of learning in the school.
  • Liaise with Heads of Faculty, the MYP Coordinator, the DP Coordinator, the Head of Secondary, and the Personalized Learning team.
Required Skills and Attributes:
  • Fluency in English (verbal and written).
  • A relevant degree in the subject and an internationally recognized teaching qualification.
  • Experience teaching the MYP and/or DP.
  • A commitment to inquiry-based learning and alignment with the school's vision and mission.
