Job Description

At a fast-scaling startup, we're seeking an experienced data engineer to drive the development of our data infrastructure.

As Senior Analytics Engineer, you'll play a crucial role in shaping our data systems, focusing on building and optimizing our data warehouse. You'll collaborate with engineering, product, and business stakeholders to design scalable, reliable, and high-quality data systems that become the foundation for insights and decision-making across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines using Airflow.
  • Develop data models across the Medallion Architecture layers to support analytics and reporting.
  • Optimize SQL queries for large datasets in AWS Athena and other relational systems.
  • Build and maintain dashboards and BI workflows using Metabase.
  • Collaborate with Product, Operations, and Analytics teams to define startup metrics and KPIs.
  • Ensure data quality, governance, and reproducibility across the data warehouse/lake.
  • Establish best practices for data engineering and analytics.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To excel in this role, you'll need:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in data engineering or related roles.
  • Strong SQL expertise with experience tuning queries and designing efficient schemas.
  • Hands-on experience with Airflow for workflow orchestration.
  • Familiarity with AWS services, especially Athena, S3, and Glue.
  • Experience building analytics dashboards with Metabase or similar BI tools.
  • Understanding of Medallion Architecture and layered data pipelines.
  • Strong understanding of startup/product metrics and how to translate them into analytics workflows.
  • Proficiency in Python for data engineering and ETL tasks.
  • Collaborative and able to work cross-functionally with product and business teams.
