Key Responsibilities- Develop Long-Term Plans: Develop long- and short-term plans for the construction, renovation, repair, and maintenance of physical plants, collaborating with third-party service providers.
- Coordinate Renovations and Repairs: Coordinate with third-party service providers to ensure that renovations, repairs, and maintenance are completed in a timely manner and that facilities are in excellent working order.
- Represent the University: Serve as the university's representative during the construction of major campus infrastructure projects.
- Provide Guidance and Advice: Provide guidance and advice on the development of the university's physical plant.
- Monitor Progress: Provide schedule reports and other feedback as necessary on the progress of construction, renovations, repairs, and maintenance.
- Support Technology Integration: Support the use of technology to enhance operations, improve the campus infrastructure, and reduce energy costs.
- Ensure Compliance: Ensure projects are completed on schedule, within budget, and comply with applicable codes and regulations.
- Provide Training: Provide formal and informal training programs as needed to provide relevant knowledge and skills to plant personnel.
- Bachelor's Degree: Bachelor's degree in engineering or related study, with a preference for a Master's degree.
- Leadership Experience: Five years' demonstrated experience leading small to large projects.
- Facilities Management Experience: A proven record of leadership in facilities management with budget experience.
- Leadership Skills: The ability to lead with both a decisive and consultative style, foster open communications, and proactively build positive relationships.
- Project Management: A track record of overseeing the complex construction of campus facilities.
- Team Player: A team player who fosters collaboration across the organization and has a commitment to excellence.
- Physical Demands: Physical capacity for prolonged standing, walking, and climbing stairs with exposure to outdoor elements.
