We are seeking a highly skilled Geotechnical Engineer to join our team in Rio de Janeiro. The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing and analyzing the ground on which buildings and other structures will be erected.
The ideal candidate will have excellent technical skills, including the ability to examine sites for proposed buildings or structures, confirm safety and durability of surfaces, design structural foundations, and conduct environmental testing.

Other duties may be assigned as needed.
Responsibilities:
- Examine sites for proposed buildings or structures to check soil stability and rock formations
- Confirm safety and durability of surfaces for building projects
- Design structural foundations and conduct environmental testing
- Study safety quality standards for different projects
- Inspect foundations and review work plans to ensure adherence to standards
- Presentation of possible project risks and recommendations for foundations and excavation activities
- Geostructural analysis and design of waterfront structures, including bulkheads, deep foundations, retaining walls, and flood control structures
- Interpretation of field test data and estimation of soil engineering properties for design
- Laboratory testing and result interpretation
- Estimation of deep foundation lateral and axial capacities
- Design of bulkheads, retaining walls, and floodwalls
- Design of wall structural components, including wales, tierods, tiebacks, cap beams, etc.
- Development of plans and specifications
- Resolution of design problems through field investigation or inspections, detailed design work, and checking design computations done by others
- Calculation of construction quantity estimates
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- BS degree in Geotechnical Engineering or related field
- Minimum 5 years of experience in geotechnical engineering
- Excellent technical skills, including knowledge of soil mechanics and geology
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
