Engineering Leader Opportunity

As an Engineering Manager, you will oversee a team responsible for delivering cloud-init, a leading standard for customizing cloud instances.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and develop a globally distributed team of engineers
  • Cultivate talent through coaching, mentoring, feedback, and hands-on career development
  • Work with Product Management to define the vision and strategy for software development and your team
  • Effectively manage expectations with other engineering teams, senior management, and external stakeholders

The ideal candidate will have a strong track record of developing and growing people, as well as experience in leading, managing, coaching, and mentoring software developers. Experience managing distributed teams is advantageous.

Requirements:
  • 3+ years of experience in leading, managing, coaching, and mentoring software developers
  • Experience managing distributed teams is advantageous
  • Knowledgeable and passionate about software development
  • Strong written and verbal technical communication skills
  • Experience with a modern GNU/Linux distribution, preferably Debian or Ubuntu
  • Practical experience with at least one of Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud, or Amazon Web Services
