About the Opportunity

ACDI/VOCA is seeking experienced professionals to join an upcoming Marine Biodiversity Activity in Timor-Leste, funded by USAID. The program aims to strengthen biodiversity conservation efforts in the marine environment, support local communities to be more resilient to climate impacts, and ensure the sustainable use of natural resources in development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead technical efforts in marine conservation, sustainable development, and community engagement.
  • Develop and implement strategies for biodiversity conservation, sustainable livelihoods, and climate resilience.
  • Collaborate with local stakeholders, government agencies, and international partners to achieve program objectives.
  • Conduct needs assessments, program monitoring, and evaluation to ensure effective project implementation.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to program staff and partners.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as marine biology, environmental science, or sustainable development.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in marine conservation, sustainable development, or a related field.
  • Experience working in Timor-Leste or similar contexts is highly desirable.
  • Fluency in English is required.
