About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Corn Breeder and Research Manager to lead our breeding program in Brazil. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing breeding strategies to improve corn yields and quality.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement breeding plans to achieve target corn market objectives
  • Lead a team of researchers and breeders to conduct corn breeding, inbred line development, hybrid creation, and yield testing
  • Design and execute nursery and yield trial experiments to evaluate corn performance
  • Collect and analyze field data on agronomic traits and make recommendations for improvement
  • Integrate new breeding technologies, such as DH lines, MAS, and GS, into the breeding program
  • Develop and deploy new breeding technologies to improve corn yields and quality
  • Recruit, train, and manage a team of researchers and breeders to improve their professional capabilities and work efficiency
  • Manage the breeding station, including property and personnel safety, and report to the Crop Breeding Leader in China
Requirements
  • Master's degree or higher in genetics and/or plant breeding
  • Good understanding of Brazil's corn germplasm and corn market
  • Basic knowledge in plant physiology, entomology, field management, and molecular markers
  • Knowledge in experiment design and statistical data analysis
  • 5-10 years of experience in corn breeding in tropical or subtropical areas
  • Critical skills: ability to work with multi-cultural, multi-functional, and multi-regional teams; ability to function within a matrix organization; good communication skills, planning, project, and people management skills; fluent in English
