Senior Consultant

We are seeking a Senior Consultant - Women's Empowerment Specialist to join our team at International Medical Corps.

The Senior Consultant will bring their expertise and knowledge of women in emergency programming, particularly Women and Girls Safe Spaces activities. They will develop guidance for closed group activities and awareness raising information sheets on protection of women and girls concerns linked to Islam/health topics for open group activities.

1. Review International Medical Corps' former guidance and resources related to group PSS in Afghanistan for protection of women and girls' concerns.
2. Desk review of other material from national and global levels such as Rethink Domestic Violence (Raising Voices), Women Rise (IRC), Arab Women Speak (IRC), PSS Curriculum (UNFPA Afghanistan), and various other materials from Raising Voices, CARE, IMC etc.
3. Interview select staff, including the Protection Coordinator, Protection National Manager, Deputy CD, MHPSS Coordinator, Child Protection Coordinator, and AoR sub-cluster coordinator, to understand practical needs and local challenges.
4. Develop tools to get feedback from women participants on topics as necessary/feasible.
5. Draft plans for developing guidance.
6. Draft a Group PSS Guidance, including relevant tools/annexes, for review by IMC Afghanistan, and HQ (expecting 2 drafts).
7. Draft set of guidance for awareness raising linking Islam/health messages with Protection of women and girls (2 drafts).
8. Finalize Protection of women and girls concerns PSS Guidance and Awareness Raising Sheets, and all necessary tools/annex.

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
• Mastery in designing human-centered approaches.
• Excellent writing skills.
• Able to synthesize technical information into succinct and practical guidance.
• Experience with group PSS guidance and tools development.
• Familiarity with global guidance on group PSS.

The estimated salary for this position is $80,000-$120,000 per year, depending on experience.
