Patent Paralegal Project Manager

LegalSight is a leading legal services firm at the forefront of global innovation. We are seeking a highly skilled Patent Paralegal Project Manager to join our team, which specializes in international patent filing needs of clients worldwide. This team focuses on the prosecution phase of patent applications, and as a Patent Paralegal Project Manager, you will be responsible for the filing processes for EP, PCT, and foreign patent applications.

This is a full-time, fully remote position, working with an international remote team. Working hours will be Monday - Friday 10:00am - 6:00pm BRT for the training period and then will switch to Monday - Friday 11:00am - 7:00pm BRT. (As we are a U.S.-based company, working hours will be adjusted during daylight savings time.) Fluency in spoken and written English is required for this role as you would be collaborating with and supporting team members and clients internationally.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Preparing all documents required in connection with EP, PCT, and foreign applications.
  • Proactively initiating the preparation of responses to official communications and notifications.
  • Coordinating filings of EP/international and foreign patent applications and related correspondence from filing to issuance of grant.
  • Monitoring all assigned cases and proactively ensuring that all related deadlines are met in a timely manner.

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • At least 1-2 years of experience as a patent paralegal in either a law firm or corporate setting.
  • Experience filing EP, PCT, and foreign patent applications.
  • Strong organization skills.
  • Significant experience managing complex projects.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Successful track record of successful collaboration with diverse stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong experience implementing translation tools into existing workflows.
  • Comfort working with CAT tools (memoQ fluency a plus) and various Machine Translation engines.
  • Ability to define processes and standards for translation and quality assurance.
  • Skilled at training internal and external users in MTPE & TM workflows.
  • Skilled at vendor recruitment and negotiations.
