Hardware Optimisation Leader

A challenging role as an engineering team lead, partnering with Linux engineers to optimise Ubuntu for the latest hardware.

  • Lead a distributed team in designing and implementing the best Ubuntu integration for IoT and server-class hardware platforms.
  • Engage with partners to deliver a high-quality Ubuntu experience on their platforms.
  • Develop your team through coaching, mentoring, and feedback.
  • Oversee commercial engagements and ensure timely delivery on project milestones.
  • Maintain strict quality and reliability standards.
  • Align product architecture and roadmaps with other teams at Canonical.

You will need:

  • Experience with Linux distributions, debian packaging, and high-performance server-class hardware.
  • Strong customer-facing skills, resolving technical issues, and communicating solutions effectively.
  • Demonstrated experience managing or leading a team of software engineers.
  • Understanding of agile software development methodologies.
  • Effective communication skills in English.
  • A bachelor's degree in a technology field.
