Position Overview:
This role is pivotal within the data center campus, focusing on the construction operations across Latin America (LATAM). The Construction Operations Manager will lead a dynamic team dedicated to the development and management of data center projects.
Key Responsibilities:
The Construction Operations Manager will be tasked with:
- Recruiting and mentoring a skilled team of Construction Managers and Project Engineers.
- Strategically overseeing construction capacity and delivery within the LATAM region.
- Collaborating with Finance to guide the development and execution of capital budgets.
- Coordinating with various stakeholders involved in data center development and launch.
- Establishing and managing performance metrics for the region.
- Working with Business Development on land and facility acquisitions.
- Ensuring safety, cost-effectiveness, and quality in data center deliverables.
Travel Requirements:
This position requires international travel of approximately 50-75%.
Essential Skills:

- Leadership abilities to inspire and train team members.
- Creative problem-solving skills to develop innovative solutions that optimize cost and time without compromising quality.
- Expertise in conducting complex business case analyses to support project justifications.
Job Responsibilities:
The role includes managing all phases of the data center construction lifecycle, from due diligence and budgeting to site selection and commissioning. Specific duties include:
- Direct interaction with general contractors throughout all project phases.
- Creating Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and Scopes of Work (SOWs).
- Conducting negotiations and evaluating contractor bids with precision.
- Managing financial reporting and analysis.
- Overseeing construction initiatives aimed at enhancing data center resilience.
- Performing constructability reviews of designs related to new and existing data centers.
- Managing construction documentation, including submittals, RFIs, change orders, and invoicing.
- Ensuring total project quality through commissioning and integrated system testing.
- Simultaneously managing multiple projects across various regions.
- Providing operational support for installed facilities and reviewing best practices.
- Reporting key construction metrics to stakeholders.
- Leading troubleshooting efforts for equipment failures.
- Traveling to various construction sites across the Americas to support new construction and product delivery.
Qualifications:
Applicants should have:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil Engineering, or Construction Management.
- Experience in managing large-scale construction projects, particularly in power distribution and mechanical systems.
- Knowledge of building codes and regulations.
- Experience leading contractor teams and managing project schedules.
- Proficiency in English.
Preferred Qualifications:
Additional desirable skills include:
- Understanding of electrical engineering best practices.
- Experience in data center design or construction.
- Knowledge of large-scale technical operations.
