Backend Developer Role

We are seeking a skilled Backend Developer to join our dynamic team. As a key contributor, you will be responsible for optimizing our AWS services, boosting scalability, and building a strong foundation for advanced analytics and machine learning.

About the Role

The ideal candidate will have experience with cloud-based infrastructure, Linux, PostgreSQL, and Java. You will be working on a collection of RESTful API services built on the Spring + Hibernate stack, with a focus on multi-tenancy and scalability.

  • Develop and maintain a suite of AWS-based services
  • Enhance scalability and identify performance bottlenecks
  • Build the foundation for advanced analytics using statistical and machine learning techniques
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Experience with similar infrastructure: Linux, PostgreSQL, AWS (SQS, SNS, S3, CloudFront)
  • Solid Java skills: Hibernate, Spring, Spring Boot
  • Well-versed in SQL: optimising complex queries, memory and CPU usage
  • Experience with development tools: CI/CD deployment (Teamcity), bash, gitflow
  • Familiarity or hands-on experience with: AWS ECS, EC2, ASG, RDS, Lambda, Docker, Load testing (Jmeter)
