Job Description

At MSD, we are seeking a highly skilled Government Affairs Senior Manager to join our Market Access & Government Affairs team. This role will play a critical part in collaborating with governmental entities and political organizations at national and regional levels to address legislative and regulatory issues that promote and protect the discovery and development of innovative medicines and vaccines for human health.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to expanding our company's presence and building valuable relationships with government bodies and health authorities.
  • Support and lead initiatives for the identification and ideation of projects resulting in collaboration agreements or partnerships between our company and public/private institutions.
  • Support and lead campaigns resulting in the incorporation of our company products through local competition.
  • Participate in trade groups and associations contributing to corporate relations and reputation.
  • Seek ways to align with our company's business strategy, anticipate future trends and policies, and propose solutions that can favor the political environment in the long term.
  • Lead through influencing discussions to identify strategic priorities, bring together business partners from different internal areas, and collaborate to advance a decisive action agenda.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Economics, Pharmacy, and/or related fields.
  • Desirable post-graduate and/or specialization in Public Policy Areas, Public Health Management.
  • Solid knowledge and experience in public policy, governmental relations, and federal public access, or patient associations.
  • Fluency in English (spoken and written).
  • Fluency in Spanish (desirable).

Location and Travel: The position is based in São Paulo or Brasilia -DF, and will require availability for domestic travel, as well as potential regional and international travel, reflecting the scope of responsibilities and engagement at both local and broader geographic levels.

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, influence, and negotiation skills.
  • Presentation Skills.
  • Strategic vision of the pharmaceutical market and competitors' profile.
  • Experience and Knowledge of the Regulatory system, Conitec, CMED, PDP, institutional politics, governmental decision-making processes.
  • Ability in building relationships, interacting, and managing external and internal stakeholders.
  • Management and monitoring of political issues and risks.
  • Public policy analysis.
  • Experience with rare diseases.
  • Collaboration and influence within multifunctional teams.
  • Teamwork.
