About the Role

Kenvue is seeking a highly skilled R&D Scientist II to join our team in São José dos Campos, Brazil. As a key member of our Engineered Products R&D team, you will be responsible for developing new prototypes, improving existing products, and implementing projects related to new product development and cost reduction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop new prototypes for engineered products with innovative and strategic approaches, considering consumer insights, cost restrictions, compliance guidelines, sustainability, and manufacturing site impact.
  • Support, plan, and execute trials for LCM/NPI projects in pilot plants and manufacturing sites.
  • Proactively investigate and develop improvements to existing products and processes.
  • Establish partnerships with manufacturing plants, engineering teams, and external partners to implement new products and improve manufacturing processes.
  • Generate, organize, and compile documentation for registration processes, aligning with ANVISA guidelines or other regulatory agencies.
  • Lead change control, investigation processes, and troubleshooting.
  • Lead claims discussions and demos creation, aligning with key stakeholders.
  • Design and execute scientific experiments and procedures under direct supervision, leveraging established methodology and protocols.
  • Assist in developing and updating protocols, test methods, and standard operating procedures.
  • Conduct product validation.
  • Lead discussions with the marketing team to develop and support new product launches.
  • Support 3YOP discussions regionally and work closely with the global development team.
Qualifications

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced R&D Scientist II with a strong background in product development or analysis. The ideal candidate will have:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in product development or analysis of products, preferably with engineered products (absorbents, diapers, bandages, etc.).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Experience with laboratory techniques and equipment.
  • Intermediate English language proficiency.

Desirable qualifications include:

  • Familiarity with relevant software and data analysis tools.
  • Masters degree or equivalent in a related scientific field.
  • Working knowledge of statistical analysis and familiarity with statistical software (e.g., Minitab, etc.).
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities successfully.
  • Previous experience in formulated products.
  • Ability to influence others highly preferred.
  • Intermediate Spanish language proficiency.
