Job Title: Environmental and Social Development Specialist, Agribusiness

We are seeking a highly skilled Environmental and Social Development Specialist to join our team in Sao Paulo, Brazil. As a key member of our Agribusiness team, you will play a critical role in ensuring that our investments and advisory services promote sustainable development and minimize environmental and social risks.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide guidance to clients and investment teams on ESG risk management and compliance with IFC's Performance Standards.
  • Lead or support the assessment of ESG issues and risks in new investments and select advisory engagements in manufacturing, agribusiness, and supply chain.
  • Identify and develop risk mitigation measures and value-add solutions to support clients in addressing identified issues.
  • Monitor portfolio clients and engage with clients to achieve compliance with IFC requirements.
  • Contribute to portfolio analysis to identify systemic issues and assess trends, and propose policy adjustments as needed.
Requirements:
  • Master's degree or equivalent in agribusiness, environment management, engineering, climate change, social or other relevant disciplines.
  • Minimum of 8 years of professional experience working on ESG due diligence in the international context, with strong preference for experience in the private sector working across different industry sectors.
  • Experience working with ESG Policies and Standards, preferably with IFI and/or World Bank Group Standards.
  • Working experience in emerging markets, ideally in fragile and conflict environments.
  • Willingness to travel regularly in emerging market countries.
