About the Role

The Database Administrator Senior plays a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth operation of database systems. This position is responsible for administering and maintaining these systems, guaranteeing their availability, reliability, and security.

  • Responsibilities include managing PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle, and MongoDB database systems, as well as monitoring and forecasting database capacity requirements.
  • Effective orchestration of DB interactions, along with the development of repeatable and recyclable solutions.
  • Plan and execute data migration and data transformation tasks as needed to maintain database efficiency.
  • Manage cross-platform data replication using open-source tools, and optimize database performance by identifying and resolving bottlenecks.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of database configuration, procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, candidates should possess:

  • 5+ years' experience handling large-scale RDBMS and no-SQL systems and related database migrations.
  • Proficiency in database management systems such as Postgres, MySQL, Oracle, and Mongo.
  • Familiarity with database performance monitoring and optimization tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to design and implement secure, scalable, and high-performance database solutions.
  • Knowledge of data security best practices.
  • Customer-oriented with the ability to collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Qualifications

Candidates must possess:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 4+ years' experience with PostgreSQL (extensive Oracle/MySQL experience with a willingness to learn PostgreSQL may substitute).
