Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled system administrator to manage our Tableau Server infrastructure.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with Tableau Server administration, including setup, configuration, and troubleshooting.

In addition to technical expertise, excellent communication skills and the ability to explain complex problems effectively are essential for this role.

Responsibilities
  • Setup and configure Tableau servers on various platforms
  • Experience with server upgrades and parameter changes
  • Proficiency in connecting Tableau to different data sources and extracting data from these sources
  • Manage user permissions, security, and access within Tableau environments
  • Troubleshoot performance issues and optimize dashboards
Requirements
  • Minimum 10 years of IT experience
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience administering Tableau Server
  • Strong understanding of Tableau architecture, including workbooks, data sources, extract refresh schedules, and server maintenance
  • Knowledge of Tableau Server features, including scheduling, content management, and server configuration
  • Experience with SQL and relational databases (e.g. SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL) to troubleshoot data-related issues
  • Familiarity with scripting languages such as Python, PowerShell, or batch scripting for automating administrative tasks is a plus
  • Understanding of data governance concepts and experience implementing security measures in Tableau
  • Cloud infrastructure knowledge is a bonus but not required
