About the Role

Lloyd's Register is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Legal Counsel to join our team in the Americas. As a key member of our legal department, you will provide expert legal advice and guidance to our subsidiary and affiliate corporations in the region.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide responsive and commercially astute legal advice to our management team and their reports.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate contracts in the Americas, with a focus on Central and South America.
  • Advise on legal issues related to contracts, labour and employment law, and risk management.
  • Support and enforce corporate policies, and assist internal clients in avoiding undesirable legal consequences.

Requirements

  • Legal degree from a school accredited by the National Commission of Legal Education of the OAB Federal Council and passage of the Brazilian Bar Examination.
  • Demonstrated commercial law experience (5+ years) in a corporate law department.
  • Good working knowledge of contract, employment, competition, intellectual property, and general commercial law.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to work in a team environment and under pressure.
  • Fluency in Portuguese, Spanish, and English.
