The Principal Product Owner is a pivotal position that offers significant opportunities to influence our teams, clients, and the organization. Key Responsibilities
Establish and nurture strong, credible relationships with key client stakeholders, positioning yourself as a trusted advisor. Guide client conversations regarding product vision and user requirements. Gather requirements and manage intricate requirement backlogs that encompass various platforms. Foster a mutual understanding of product requirements among all stakeholders, both internal and external. Drive a strategic product roadmap that evaluates business value, technical efforts, dependencies, and constraints related to time and budget. Facilitate discussions around scope management and feature prioritization. Collaborate with product designers to develop exceptional user experiences that are both feasible and aligned with technical limitations. Conduct or support client journey mapping, user story mapping, and other product-focused workshops. Lead technical discussions with engineers to define system architecture and data flows that inform feature development. Utilize analytics and metrics to guide informed decision-making and refine product strategies. Analyze and interpret data to uncover patterns, trends, and opportunities for product enhancement and improved user experiences. Manage and document technical dependencies and API requirements. Contribute significantly to the promotion of best practices, skills enhancement, and process optimization. Mentor fellow Product Leads, either informally or formally.Required Qualifications
Over 5 years of experience in the software development sector in roles such as Product Manager, Product Owner, Technical Business Analyst, or similar. Proven experience collaborating with stakeholders to elicit and define requirements across multiple platforms: iOS, Android, Web, Backend technologies, etc. Strong understanding of the capabilities and limitations across iOS, Android, Web, and TV platforms. Comprehensive knowledge of accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1) and their integration into product development for enhanced inclusivity and compliance. Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with individuals from various roles and technical backgrounds. Experience in shaping product vision, go-to-market strategies, and UI/UX discussions. Ability to quickly adapt to new technologies and comprehend constraints and platform-specific risks. Strong documentation and technical writing skills, proficient in using user stories, acceptance criteria, flow diagrams, API documentation, and other requirement documentation methods. Solid technical knowledge with a thorough understanding of product development processes from conception to launch, including frontend and backend technologies (e.g., web/native apps, APIs, databases). Demonstrated ability to facilitate scrum ceremonies (e.g., Stand up, Refinement, Sprint planning, Retrospectives) to ensure successful software development cycles. Proven expertise in initiating new features and designs, leading to efficient project execution and stakeholder satisfaction. Strong intuition for user experience and the ability to empathize with users of your product. Experience as a mentor and leader who fosters a safe environment where all ideas are welcomed and valued.Preferred Qualifications
Experience in an agency or consulting environment with diverse clients and industries. Familiarity with the differences in capabilities across iOS, Android, Web, and TV platforms.
