The Role

Our team is seeking a skilled Software Engineer to collaborate closely with Data Engineering, Product, and Design to build services and user-facing features across our platform.

Responsibilities

  • Develop full-stack applications and features across a modern tech stack, including Typescript, React, Go, and Postgres.
  • Enhance user experience by collaborating with designers to implement intuitive interfaces.
  • Build microservices focusing on reliability, maintainability, testability, and scalability within distributed systems.
  • Contribute to automated testing strategies and participate in code reviews.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of professional software engineering experience
  • Experience with one or more general-purpose programming languages (Go, C/C++, C#, Java, Ruby, etc.)
  • Strong understanding of common data structures and design patterns
  • Proficiency in using unit testing frameworks
  • A dedication to developing clear, reliable, and maintainable code

First Year Plan

During the first month, you'll attend onboarding sessions, pair with other engineers, familiarize yourself with automated testing platforms, and contribute to test coverage.

Within three months, you'll participate in code reviews, gain exposure to the platform's infrastructure, understand the high-level architecture, and begin shipping complex user-facing code.

Within six months, you'll grow as a contributing member of a product team, providing input and insight on challenges and feasibility of proposed development.

Within twelve months, you'll solidify your understanding of the breadth of our tech stack, become a subject matter expert, and identify areas for improvement in our codebase.
