Job Description:
As a cybersecurity specialist at Canonical, you will be responsible for analyzing and addressing security vulnerabilities in open-source software. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to develop and implement effective security solutions, collaborate with external partners to identify and prioritize threats, and communicate complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders. This role requires a strong understanding of security principles, protocols, and technologies, as well as excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you will need:
• A thorough understanding of common security vulnerabilities and techniques for mitigating them
• Familiarity with coordinated disclosure practices and industry-standard security frameworks
• Experience with open-source development tools and methodologies
• Proficiency in one or more programming languages, including C, Python, Go, Rust, Java, Ruby, PHP, or JavaScript/TypeScript
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex security issues and develop effective solutions
