We are looking for a highly skilled professional to join our team as a Senior Back-End Software Engineer. This individual will play a key role in building industry-leading products and working closely with product stakeholders.

The ideal candidate will have 7+ years of experience in back-end software development, a strong background in Node.js, and excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new applications and features
  • Build and enhance advanced applications using Node.js
  • Create, publish, and consume data through clean API endpoints
  • Provide estimates for features, bug fixes, upgrades, and new projects
  • Participate in documenting applications and custom-built frameworks
  • Write automated unit and feature tests enabling continuous delivery of your great work
  • Maximize development efficiency by discovering and implementing new technologies
  • Support teammates during code reviews

Required Experience:

  • Excellent English communication and interpersonal skills
  • 7+ years of engineering experience working on high-volume, commercial software products and services
  • 4+ years of experience with Node.js and TypeScript (bonus)
  • Experience with object-oriented programming patterns
  • Experience with scaling and performance improvement
  • Knowledge of PostgreSQL or other relational / non-relational database systems
  • High execution mindset while balancing risk vs costs vs timeline
  • Proven history of delivering production-ready applications in a timely manner
  • Experience creating and consuming API's (preferably with GraphQL)
  • Familiarity with AWS cloud services (server setup a bonus)
  • Team player eager to learn from and mentor others
  • Proven delivery experience in a dynamic startup environment
