Join Our Team as a Locomotive NPI Controls Engineer

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and enhance engine and electric drivetrain control system concepts for new technology applications as part of new product introductions
  • Define engine and electric drivetrain control feature/diagnostics requirements and documentation
  • Prototype new control applications concepts/enhancements through modeling and simulation
  • Develop MATLAB scripts and SIMULINK models
  • Develop feature test procedures to ensure performance meets requirements
  • Perform and document failure modes analysis (DFMEA)
  • Support feature calibration and validation efforts in the engine test cell, integrated hardware simulator testing, locomotive system testing, customer acceptance, and field in-service monitoring
  • Support design and documentation updates for safety and regulatory compliance assurance
  • Support commercial requisition and reliability growth through product and platform expansion
  • Collaborate with senior engine, traction & auxiliary control engineers, systems and subsystem engineering, program management, commercial teams, simulation, software, and hardware teams in the application of advanced controls techniques/methods/tools to meet challenging requirements
  • Provide technical guidance to team members and engage a broad range of existing product and technical experts to build design, tools, process, and domain expertise
