Key Responsibilities

Development and Implementation

· The SAP Ariba Implementation Specialist will play a crucial role in various aspects of an Ariba OnDemand deployment, including but not limited to: solution architecture, business rule formulation, user interface customization, integration with external systems, technical and end-user training, and project oversight.

· Champion the implementation of exemplary business processes using the SAP Ariba cloud platform.

· Assist clients in extracting data from their legacy systems, ensuring compliance with data specifications for seamless integration with Ariba OnDemand Solutions.

· Leverage proven best practices to influence client decisions and perspectives.

· Serve as a key point of contact between clients and various internal teams within Ariba, including Technical Support, Sales, Engineering, and Solutions Marketing.

Client Engagement

· Collaborate with other members of the OnDemand Implementation team to ensure client satisfaction throughout the successful deployment of solutions.

· Maintain consistent communication with client representatives during the implementation phase to keep them informed of project progress.

Expertise in Ariba Solutions

· Possess a thorough understanding of the features, functionalities, and applicability of the following Ariba OnDemand Solutions:

· Procure to Pay, Procure-to-order, Invoice Pro, Procurement Content, and Services Procurement (Field Glass).

· Enhance solution, client, and industry knowledge by utilizing appropriate resources both internally at Ariba and externally with clients.

· Demonstrate a willingness to continuously learn about new features and adapt to evolving cloud technologies and deployment methodologies.

Collaborative Teamwork

· Work alongside and often lead both internal and external resources to maximize client impact.

· Proactively engage with the internal team to anticipate and address potential issues that may affect solution deployment.

· Operate with minimal supervision and exhibit strong initiative.

· Maintain regular communication with the Project Manager.

· Foster proactive communication through face-to-face meetings and phone calls, prioritizing these over emails.

Qualifications and Experience

· Educational background in Technical fields (IT, Engineering, Physical Sciences).

· Professional experience in technical consulting or custom development.

· Familiarity with systems implementation methodologies, including Waterfall and Agile approaches.

· Experience in implementing or supporting on-demand solutions.

· Background in deploying or supporting ERP systems (Oracle, SAP, PeopleSoft).

· Experience in delivering software demonstrations and training.

· Knowledge of systems deployment based on object-oriented platforms.

· Familiarity with Ariba products.

· High competency in process design and configuration.

Preferred Skills

· Understanding of procurement and/or Accounts Payable processes.

· Knowledge of systems implementation processes.

· Proficiency in XML, including the ability to read, define, and map XML documents.

· SQL skills, including the ability to create queries.

· Proficiency in MS Suite, including effective communication using Excel, Word, PPT, and Visio.

· Basic knowledge of UNIX.

· Familiarity with web services.

· Understanding of authentication protocols (SAML, IIS).

· Knowledge of object-oriented programming languages (Java, JavaScript, shell scripting).
