About the Role

This position is responsible for creating a best-in-class compliance program, leading Affiliate CSC Meetings, providing guidance on industry codes and government regulations, and performing compliance risk assessments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create a comprehensive compliance framework in partnership with the Compliance Steering Committee to support AbbVie's business in Brazil.
  • Lead Affiliate CSC Meetings to ensure effective collaboration and decision-making.
  • Provide expert guidance and support in Brazil on national industry codes, regional/international industry codes (e.g., IFPMA), and government regulations including the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act.
  • Conduct compliance risk assessments, trend analyses, and provide recommendations for best practices.
  • Implement, manage, and interpret compliance policies, procedures, and practices across multiple geographies.
  • Develop and coordinate awareness, education, and training programs focused on the Code of Business Conduct, policies, and applicable industry codes and regulations.
  • Maintain ethics and compliance records, documents, and files, as well as document databases.
  • Participate in local Industry group meetings, identify changes and trends, communicate them to the CSC and OEC Area Director, and implement necessary changes.
  • Develop, implement, and oversee the execution of Affiliate monitoring plans to ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
  • Lead internal investigations, communicate with AbbVie Internal Investigations as necessary, and develop and execute Affiliate non-RCI (reportable compliance incident) Internal Investigations' Procedures.
  • Assist with compliance audits, oversee the fulfillment of auditors' requests, act as liaison between business and auditors during on-site activities, evaluate and respond to preliminary findings and recommendations, guide the business in preparing corrective action, and ensure timely completion.
  • Travel to Affiliates within Brazil to establish and maintain close partnerships with business partners.
  • Partner with peers in other geographies to advance the Global compliance program.

Qualifications

We are seeking a highly skilled professional with a Bachelor's degree required. Finance, Audit, Business, Legal, or equivalent work experience is strongly preferred. The ideal candidate will possess strong analysis and problem-solving skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and a fluent command of English. Strong negotiation/influencing skills, adaptability, and counseling abilities are also essential. Solid professional experience with, or exposure to, business functions such as compliance, finance, legal, regulatory affairs, government affairs; Pharmaceutical Industry experience is preferred.

Estimated Salary Range: $120,000 - $180,000 per year
