Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Operations Coordinator to join our team at Herman Miller do Brasil, Ltda. as a Facilitator. This is a key role that will play a critical part in ensuring the smooth operation of our production line and contributing to our company's success.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a team of operatives to ensure relevant levels of productivity, quality, and safety are met and contribute to daily operations as required.
  • Provide support to operators in the assembly and logistics area.
  • Carry out daily continuous improvement activities using PDCA and housekeeping methodologies, which provide improvements in KPIs and the work environment.
  • Coordinate teams in line supply, assembly, and packaging activities.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in assembly/production line operations, familiarity with computerized production systems, generation and control of production orders (job and picking list), movement of components, finished products, and manufacturing logistics.
  • Experience in productivity concepts, cycle time, and takt time, one-piece flow, line balancing, establishment of daily production goals, evaluation, and monitoring of line performance.
  • Good interpersonal skills, computer knowledge, and English for document interpretation and conversation.

  • Considers the priorities of the operation and knows when to involve direct managers or managers from other departments.

  • Demonstrates awareness of operating costs.

  • Reports daily operational status as required.
  • Takes appropriate action to resolve conflicts or other situations that arise.
  • Involves and encourages the team in analyzing the root cause of non-conformities that affect the team's productivity and/or safety.
  • Has good/high level of knowledge with MS Word, Excel, and email.
Level of Responsibilities
  • Uses PDCA tools daily to deliver continuous improvements in the work area.
  • Maintains and improves quality standards so that all products are delivered 100% defect-free the first time, every time.
  • Ensures the acquisition, conservation, and maintenance of tools, devices, and equipment directly related to the assembly line.
  • Will eventually replace the absence of a Leader.
  • Plans and manages resources on the factory floor daily.
  • Supports the Department Manager in implementing strategic plans and objectives and other projects.
  • Periodic updating of the FMDS table according to established goals.
  • Administrative duties as required to ensure daily performance of KPIs are achieved.
  • Works in the planning and coordination of labor, machines, methods, and materials for the assembly line.
  • Trains and monitors staff on standard operating procedures (SOPs), including adding new employees/temporary workers.
  • Maintains the highest levels of cleanliness and organization throughout the factory floor.
  • Regarding Health and Safety, ensures that employees, service providers, and visitors are working in a safe location and conditions, pointing out risks when they appear.
  • Works closely with the safety technician and collaborates on safety inspections and risk assessment monitoring as required, implementing effective and documented corrective actions where necessary.
  • Supports the audit and inventory process.
  • Maintains control of waste flows, segregation, and recycling.
