We are seeking a highly skilled Control Systems Engineer to join our team at Wabtec Corporation. As a key member of our Controls engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and developing control systems for locomotives, ensuring they meet customer requirements, cost, and reliability expectations.
Key Responsibilities- Design and develop traction and aux control systems for locomotives, including defining system level requirements and preparing test plans.
- Perform system validation and calibration, and support issue resolution for New Technology and New Product Introduction initiatives.
- Work with cross-functional teams to develop control strategy requirements and concepts, and design and implement solutions.
- Develop Simulink models and carry out desktop simulations to verify designs.
- Conduct simulator testing and participate in locomotive testing to validate traction control.
- Lead design reviews and make presentations to senior management.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical/Electronics/Control System Engineering.
- 4-8 years' experience in engineering in a similar or relevant field.
- Hands-on experience with design and development of control algorithms in a relevant field.
- Good working knowledge of Simulink/Stateflow or similar tools.
- Proven analytical, interpersonal, communication, organization, planning, and leadership skills.
- Process focus and continuous improvement orientation.
- 5+ years' experience working as a Traction and Aux Control Engineer in Locomotive Systems.
- Experience in working in a cross-functional environment.
- Experience in Electrical and Control Systems.
- Strong electrical engineering knowledge.
- Working knowledge of statistical analysis, or Six Sigma Greenbelt certified preferred.
- Experience with signal processing, and interfacing with software for real-time embedded control systems.
- Experience with requirements management tools.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
