Job Description

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) is a leading UN Agency in the field of migration, working closely with governmental, intergovernmental and nongovernmental partners to promote humane and orderly migration. In Brazil, IOM has been implementing projects to support the government in ensuring that forcibly returned citizens are received with dignity and respect their human rights.

Main Responsibilities
  • Administer tasks, such as WAVE and other duties, when necessary.
  • Support text editing, proofreading and translation to ensure quality of IOM products and materials.
  • Assist with monitoring project implementation, tracking activities and results achieved.
  • Provide administrative assistance to the Counter Trafficking and Border Governance Team.
  • Support the implementation of projects aimed at Countering Trafficking, Smuggling of Migrants and Integrated Border Management in Brazil.
Requirements
  • A degree in administration, social sciences, economics, law, public policy, health or a related field with relevant work experience.
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience with government, civil society, UN, or private sector actors, operational systems, event organization, and migration and refuge.
  • Critical thinking, time management, creativity, initiative, computer literacy, especially Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Portuguese (advanced), English (advanced), Spanish (advantageous).
