Ensuring Safe Navigation and Efficient Operations

Job Summary

The Second Officer role is a critical position on our vessels, responsible for overseeing the safe navigation of ships at sea. This includes maintaining accurate navigation equipment, ensuring rescue and firefighting equipment are in good working order, and preparing the vessel for helicopter operations.

Key Responsibilities

* Maintain surveillance of safe navigation at sea, anchored and when operating in DP operations;
* Ensure the maintenance of all rescue and firefighting equipment;
* Make sure that all navigation equipment is working properly; Preparation of the walkway to the sea, as required by the statute and reporting of defects in the equipment;
* Ensure that all publications and navigation charts are corrected by date and that navigation alerts are displayed;
* Acts as a Helicopter Landing Officer, when necessary, as long as he has valid training
* Assists the Health, Environment and Safety (SMS) Representative and Physician as needed, with familiarization courses for arrivals of never-embarked personnel and other employees

Requirements

* Training in Nautical Sciences
* Advanced/fluent English
* Certificate of Competence (COC) - II/1 - IV/2
* CIR - 2ON (Second Nautical Officer)
* DP Full
* PLSV ship experience
* HUET
* Valid maritime certificates
