The Cybersecurity Solutions Architect will be pivotal in the design, development, and execution of enterprise-level security frameworks. This role requires hands-on involvement in security projects initially, with the potential to grow into a leadership position overseeing a dedicated security team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in security architecture, with experience in sectors such as financial services, government (including defense contracting), or healthcare being highly valued. Furthermore, the candidate should be adept at assessing and configuring security tools, as well as creating security solutions from the ground up.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and establish security frameworks for new systems and enhancements to existing systems, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and compliance requirements.
- Conduct comprehensive security evaluations, penetration testing, and vulnerability assessments to identify risks and formulate mitigation strategies.
- Assess and configure security solutions to ensure they meet the organization's specifications and integrate smoothly into the current infrastructure.
- Collaborate with IT and development teams to embed security best practices throughout the software development lifecycle (SDLC).
- Develop and uphold security policies, standards, and guidelines to ensure adherence to industry benchmarks (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST, GDPR).
- Oversee the deployment of security technologies such as firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), encryption, and identity and access management (IAM) solutions.
- Stay informed on security trends, emerging threats, and technologies to proactively enhance the organization's security posture.
- Lead incident response efforts, including investigation, containment, and remediation of security incidents.
- Deliver security training and awareness initiatives for employees to foster a culture of security within the organization.
- Prepare and present regular updates on the status of information security programs and initiatives to executive leadership.
- Initially serve as a hands-on security expert, with the opportunity to recruit, mentor, and lead a dedicated security team as the organization expands.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline. A Master's degree is preferred.
- A minimum of 15 years of experience in information security, with at least 10 years in a security architect capacity.
- Strong understanding of security architecture principles and methodologies.
- Proficiency with security technologies such as firewalls, IDS/IPS, SIEM, endpoint protection, and encryption.
- Experience in evaluating and configuring security solutions to meet organizational requirements.
- Familiarity with cloud security and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
- In-depth knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks and standards (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST, GDPR, HIPAA).
- Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CEH, or SANS GIAC.
- Exceptional problem-solving abilities and the capacity to perform under pressure.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate complex security concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in financial services, government (including defense contracting), or healthcare sectors.
- Familiarity with DevSecOps practices and tools.
- Knowledge of secure coding practices and software development methodologies.
- Experience with threat modeling and risk assessment techniques.
