Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Backend Engineer with strong Python or Rust coding expertise to join our software engineering team.

You will work with a skilled, collaborative team to evolve the instant-quote product and the underlying technology platform.

Responsibilities:
  • Design, code, test, and deploy software solutions.
  • Review and write code in HTML, Typescript/Javascript/React, Python, and Rust.
  • Collaborate closely with engineers and product managers within an autonomous, cross-functional team.
  • Manage operational aspects of services, including deployment in AWS and Kubernetes, and participate in on-call rotations.
  • Support personal growth in a dynamic environment.
Qualifications:
  • 10+ years of experience in a fast-paced technical environment as a software developer.
  • Strong English communication skills, both written and spoken.
  • Solid understanding of software engineering fundamentals.
  • Knowledge of HTML, CSS, DOM web programming.
  • Experience with at least two of Python, Rust, and React.
  • Experience with build and testing tools such as Git/Github actions or GitLab.
  • Understanding of security, scalability, asynchronous programming, and transactions in software engineering.
  • Knowledge of service-oriented architectures and ability to lead related initiatives.
  • Experience with relational and NoSQL databases, including normalization, constraints, transactions, replication, and sharding.
  • Attention to detail, strong work ethic, multitasking ability, and good communication skills.

This is a Mid-Senior level role requiring a deep understanding of software engineering concepts and technologies.
