About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our Global Engineering team at Metso Outotec. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing technical leadership and engineering support for project-specific engineering and development projects related to HPGR and HRC equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Lead the detail design work in standard product development and delivery projects related to HPGR and HRC equipment.
  2. Review and achieve project engineering, quality, cost, and schedule requirements.
  3. Work closely with Product Lines and management to set engineering design guidelines and standards for upgrades, retrofits, and refurbishments of mining equipment drive arrangements.
  4. Prepare detailed scope of work for the upgrade of existing equipment.
  5. Perform calculations to ensure safe function of equipment for refurbishment, upgrade, or retrofit.
  6. Prepare mechanical drawings to facilitate fabrication, construction, and installation for equipment or services to refurbish, upgrade, or retrofit.
  7. Visit customer offices and plants to determine physical restrictions or limitations for refurbishment, upgrade, or retrofit.
  8. Show a commitment to meeting the needs and expectations of both internal and external customers.
  9. Provide technical support to field service representatives. When appropriate, make recommendations to improve field methods and efficiency.
  10. Participate in training seminars (internal and external).
Requirements
  1. Mechanical Engineering degree.
  2. Five years of design experience in engineering equipment for the Mining, mineral process, or similar heavy industries.
  3. Strong experience using 3D and 2D.
  4. Experience using a FEA modeling package is a plus.
  5. Working knowledge of SAP, Microsoft Office Products.
  6. Ability to manage engineering work in multiple projects.
  7. Capability to make decisions independently while working as part of a team.
  8. Capability to work in a structured manner even under pressure.
