Data Platform Engineer Leader

We are seeking an exceptional Engineering Manager to lead our team of innovators in building scalable data solutions for Kubernetes and cloud machines. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for hiring, coaching, mentoring, providing feedback, and leading by example.
Our ideal candidate will have a software engineering background, preferably with Python and Golang experience, as well as experience running in production and at scale, preferably Big Data or MySQL. They will possess excellent judgement about people - their motivations, abilities, developmental needs, and prospects for success.
The successful candidate will demonstrate sound engineering skills by directly contributing code when needed, effectively set and manage expectations with other engineering teams, senior management, and external stakeholders, advocate modern, agile software development practices, and develop and evangelize great engineering and organizational practices.
They will also ensure that their team delivers excellent products that users love by maintaining a culture of quality and engineering excellence, grow a healthy, collaborative engineering culture aligned with the company's values, and work from home with global travel twice yearly, for internal events of one or two weeks duration.
