We are seeking a seasoned Senior Software Engineering Manager to join our Analytics Center of Excellence team at IQVIA. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for leading a high-performing team of software engineers and driving the development of innovative solutions to support our clients.
Key Responsibilities- Mentor and guide junior and senior software engineers to ensure they have the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in their roles.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest programming languages, software development techniques, and methodologies, and lead improvements in software development best practices.
- Administer employee performance reviews, development plans, and make staffing decisions to ensure the team is aligned with company goals.
- Create effective onboarding plans to ensure new team members can quickly contribute to the team's success.
- Oversee the value proposition of the development team, ensuring team members are aligned with their role and contribution.
- Identify unmet skill requirements and hire or develop staff to satisfy them.
- At least 1+ years of prior experience as a team manager or in a senior individual contributor role.
- Prior experience working in a collaborative Agile environment.
- Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
- Able to be tactful when dealing with delicate situations.
- Prior experience in a senior individual contributor role (senior engineer, staff engineer, principal engineer, senior principal engineer).
- Solid understanding of relational database management systems, including logical design and implementation considerations.
- Prior experience as a project manager.
- Used CI/CD commit, test, deploy tools.
- Developed object-oriented software using at least one of Python 3.x or JavaScript (ES5/6 or ES2015+), in addition to other technologies or frameworks.
- Awareness of infosec compliance factors in software development.
- Prior experience collaborating with data science or machine learning teams.
- Prior completion of an ABET accredited BS Computer Science degree or equivalent.
