We are seeking an accomplished Legal Manager to lead our labor portfolio in the LATAM region. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in labor law, exceptional communication skills, and the ability to manage complex litigation cases.
This is a challenging opportunity for a highly skilled legal professional to join our team and make a significant impact on our business.
- The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the full labor portfolio, including judicial and administrative proceedings, individual and collective actions, class actions and settlements.
- They will provide preventive labor law advisory to internal stakeholders, ensuring compliance with Brazilian and LATAM regulations.
- Active support will be provided to programs related to prevention of occupational disease and health & safety matters in collaboration with HR and EHS.
- Litigation trends, KPIs, and data will be monitored and analyzed to identify risks, optimize outcomes, and propose process improvements.
- External law firms and litigation budgets will be managed and overseen, ensuring efficiency and accountability.
- Proper use of litigation management systems and accurate reporting of cases and provisions will be ensured.
- Regional and global compliance and audit requirements related to labor and employment will be supported.
- The Legal Department will be represented in negotiations with unions, labor authorities, and the Ministry of Labor or Public Prosecutor's Office.
- Bachelor's Degree in Law and active license to practice in Brazil are mandatory.
- Specialization and strong previous experience in Labor Law are also required.
- A Master's degree in Labor Law is desirable.
- Solid experience managing judicial and administrative labor proceedings and providing labor law advisory is essential.
- Professional background in multinational companies, preferably in the industrial sector, is preferred.
- Experience working with data management and process management systems is necessary.
- Proven ability to manage external law firms and control legal spend is critical.
- Strong business orientation and ability to partner with HR, EHS, and business leaders is vital.
- Fluent English is required; Spanish is desirable for broader LATAM scope.
- Strong communication skills and ability to operate across diverse cultures are essential.
