Job Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced technologist to join our Information Systems (IS) team as a Senior Site Reliability / Gitops Engineer.

This role offers an opportunity to build a career with a leading provider of open source software and operating systems, driving success in the use of Ubuntu and open source products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Drive the development of automation and Gitops solutions within your team as an embedded tech lead.
  • Collaborate closely with the IS architect to ensure alignment with the IS architecture vision.
  • Design and architect services that can be offered to the organization as products.
  • Apply Infrastructure as Code (IaC) expertise to develop infrastructure as code practices within IS, increasing automation and improving IaC processes.
  • Automate software operations for re-usability and consistency across private and public clouds, considering distributed system complexities.
  • Maintain operational responsibility for all core services, networks, and infrastructure.
  • Develop skills in troubleshooting, capacity planning, and performance investigation, setting up and using observability tools like Prometheus, Grafana, and Elasticsearch. Design and implement monitoring and alerting for various systems and services.
  • Provide assistance and work with globally distributed engineering, operations, and support peers.
  • Enjoy uninterrupted development time to focus on larger projects and automate manual tasks.
  • Share experience, know-how, and best practices with team members through design sessions, mentorship, and collaborative work.
  • Carry final responsibility for time-critical escalations.
