Key Position: Staff MacOS Software Engineer
">This staff software engineer position is part of the WatchGuard Engineering Department, contributing to the Fireware team.
">As a staff macOS software engineer, you will be responsible for developing high-quality macOS client applications that interact with secure VPN tunnels and backend infrastructure supporting various authentication methods.
">Primary Responsibilities:
">- Maintaining and evolving the macOS client application to ensure timely software delivery
- Resolving customer and internal incidents related to the macOS client application
- Collaborating with product management and customer support to understand customer feedback and needs
- Leading technical development activities, making decisions, and driving projects forward
- Collaborating with the QA team for functional validation and test checklist definition
- Documenting modules, resolving technical doubts, and estimating costs for new features
The ideal candidate has advanced knowledge of software development, experience in multidisciplinary teams, and a strong understanding of agile methodologies.
">Required Skills and Qualifications:
">- Knowledge of Swift, Objective-C, Python, Bash programming languages
- Experience with macOS GUI applications, KEXTs, SEXTs, and Network Extensions
- Understanding of kernel module debugging techniques
- Knowledge of macOS starting from 10.10 (Yosemite) and above
- Multiplatform development skills
- Agile methodologies experience (preferably SCRUM)
- Version control experience with GIT
- Proficiency in XCode and other macOS development tools
- Additional skills in other programming languages, continuous integrations, and platforms (Linux and Windows)
- Strong networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, HTTP/S & DNS)
- Excellent written and spoken English communication skills
