About the Role

As a Senior Accountant at Google, you will be part of a dynamic team that handles the core accounting responsibilities for the company. Your expertise in accounting principles and the full accounting process end-to-end will be essential in providing in-depth analysis on strategic decisions across Google products.

The Finance team at Google is an important partner and advisor to the business, providing forward-thinking analysis, generating management reports, and scaling automated financial processes. As a Senior Accountant, you will be expected to provide financial records and supporting documentation to auditors, assist with the development of process cycle memorandums and procedural walk-throughs, and manage ownership and accountability for accuracy, timeliness, effectiveness, and efficiency of financial reporting and controllership processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide financial records and supporting documentation to auditors, and assist with the development of process cycle memorandums and procedural walk-throughs.
  • Use data to extract meaningful insights and monitor the performance of different areas of the business.
  • Manage ownership and accountability for accuracy, timeliness, effectiveness, and efficiency of financial reporting and controllership processes, including month-end close, Profit and Loss (P&L) and Balance/Sheet B/S analysis, tax operation and compliance, internal controls, and risk management.
  • Perform general business reviews for Non-Standard agreements in light of IFRS, US GAAP, and internal policies.
  • Manage third-party service providers and ensure that company processes are in line with internal controls and global processes.
