About the Role:

A Priori Excelência Em Recursos Humanos is seeking a highly skilled Embedded Electronics Developer to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for designing and developing new embedded electronics devices that drive innovative controls and control systems in consumer appliances.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical leadership and expertise in software development from conceptualization through production.
  • Independently design software/firmware for electronic controls and control systems with significant technical content.
  • Develop software specifications based on various requirement inputs, including consumer, marketing, and industrial design, and product specification.
  • Lead and participate in all stages of the embedded software development cycle, including software design, coding, debugging, verification, validation, etc.
  • Perform software design review and code review.
  • Perform static code analysis, white-box testing, gray-box testing, and involved in preparation and execution of firmware validation plans.
  • Develop PC-based user interface software allowing engineers to configure, debug, and diagnose the embedded boards.
  • Develop detailed engineering documentation, including software design documents, specifications, manuals, and other customer documentation, development and test procedures, Engineering Change Notices, and manufacturing procedures.
  • Support UL engineers on software/firmware-related topics.
  • Participate in hardware design review and work with hardware engineers to provide alternative solutions.
  • Provide support and training on new products to other departments and customers as required.
  • Estimate task durations and assist with the preparation of project plans.
  • Work with outside consultants, suppliers, and contract manufacturers to develop and manufacture electronic components and assemblies.
  • Work closely with Purchasing and Quality to investigate, qualify, select, and manage electronics suppliers.
  • Work closely with manufacturing to ensure the smooth transition of new designs into the production process, including support past pilot run and into full manufacturing ramp-up.
  • Perform special projects as directed by the Department Manager.
  • Participate on global projects in the effort of unifying the software architecture and process.

Requirements:

  • BS degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science. M.S. degree is a plus.
  • Proven experience in developing embedded firmware.
  • Experience in a consumer cooking appliance product R&D environment.
  • Design/programming experience in C/C++ firmware for embedded systems.
  • Must be capable of generating software specification from product specification.
  • Must be proficient with one of Renesas, Freescale, or ST controllers, and familiar with development environment/tools.
  • Must be capable of testing/debugging the firmware with oscilloscope, debuggers, emulators, and logic analyzer.
  • Willing to follow team's direction on software architecture and other software development processes.
  • Must have knowledge and experience on modular software development.
  • Knowledge and experience with white-box testing, static code analysis, and IEC/UL60730 safety class B software.
  • Knowledge and experience with version control, issues tracking, and project management tools (Git, Jira, PTC).
  • Ability to interpret schematics.
  • Demonstrated track record in supporting all aspects of an electronics manufacturing organization to achieve required production rates.

Language: English

Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science. Master's degree is a plus.
