Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Process Sr. Scientist to join our team in São José dos Campos, Brazil. As a Process Sr. Scientist, you will be responsible for performing scientific experiments, collecting and analyzing data, and assisting in writing and updating protocols and standard operating procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support quality, manufacturing, safety, and maintenance teams in troubleshooting, defining winning processes, and providing technical expertise.
  • Independently plan and execute laboratory and/or pilot experiments, analyze data, and identify root causes for technical investigations.
  • Develop and implement process validation strategies.
  • Write test protocols and reports to support troubleshooting and new project implementation.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing teams to deliver smart solutions, improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), and reduce losses based on product design.
  • Participate in safety evaluations, assessments, and initial start-up of new equipment, sharing formula, process, and equipment knowledge.
  • Understand the relationship between process yield and product design to achieve process optimization.
  • Execute life cycle management projects for technology transfers, cost reduction, Business Continuity Planning (BCP) development, manufacturing process optimization, or new technology implementation, working with a multi-functional team.
  • Apply organizational understanding and awareness and participate in decision-making in collaboration with others.
  • Engage in project and program management, identify and implement process-level efficiencies, and make progress towards innovative thinking at the macro level.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of relevant experience.
  • Fluent English is required; intermediate Spanish is considered a differential.
  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Pharmacy, Chemical Engineering, Material Engineering, or correlated areas is required.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills are essential.
  • A strong sense of urgency, resilience, and ability to manage conflicts is required.
  • Ability to manage complexity and work collaboratively with critical stakeholders at local, regional, and global levels.
  • Good communication, organizational, interpersonal, and influencing skills are necessary.
  • Project management experience is preferred.
