Position Overview

TNS is in search of a Senior Software Development Engineer with over 12 years of relevant experience. The ideal candidate will engage in the complete software development lifecycle, focusing on leading development teams, software engineering, systems architecture, and enhancing application security for payment transaction processing.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Duties:

  • Lead and contribute to high-level designs of payment applications, system architecture, and code implementation utilizing React, Angular, and other necessary web technologies.
  • Ensure software compliance with quality, security, and extensibility standards.
  • Collaborate with various teams within TNS (Development/QA, Product Owners, Sales Engineering, and Operations) to define and implement both functional and non-functional requirements for software components.
  • Work alongside DevOps and other teams to establish and standardize tools and methodologies for TNS's CI/CD strategy.
  • Create design, requirement, test documentation, and software specifications as needed.
  • Effectively communicate concepts and guidelines to the development team; mentor team members to ensure they meet performance expectations.
  • Operate with minimal supervision, thrive in a team environment, and demonstrate strong teamwork skills.

Agile/Scrum Duties:

  • Serve as the technical lead for a Scrum team comprising diverse members from various locations.
  • Develop the sprint backlog of technical stories and tasks based on requirements and product backlog.
  • Collaborate with the Product Owner and stakeholders for backlog planning and grooming.
  • Estimate effort levels for software projects and develop project plans on a sprint-by-sprint basis, assisting the team in story estimation within the Scrum framework.
  • Implement best practices for Scrum/SDLC and coding for projects.
  • As a senior technical member, contribute to the continuous improvement of the SDLC process.

Required Qualifications:

  • Hands-on experience as a Software Developer on Linux platforms using React, Angular, and/or other web technologies/frameworks.
  • Proven experience with continuous integration and deployment models.
  • Familiarity with Agile and DevOps methodologies.
  • Knowledge of markup/tagged languages such as JSON, XML, HTML, and YAML.
  • Experience with scripting languages like Python, Perl, Bash, and JavaScript.
  • Understanding of virtualization, containers, microservices, and cloud technologies.
  • A four-year degree in Computer Science or Engineering.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of the payment industry, including familiarity with Payment Card Industry (PCI) standards and specifications.
  • Experience with databases such as MariaDB, Microsoft SQL, or Oracle.
  • Understanding of data encryption and programming experience with Hardware Security Modules (HSM).
  • Familiarity with payment technologies like card-data encryption, digital wallets, tokenization, and settlement processes.
