Software Development Opportunity

This is an exciting opportunity to work as a software engineer on our team. We are looking for talented individuals who can design, build, and maintain solutions that will be deployed on public and private clouds and local workstations.

About the Role:
  • We require you to develop your understanding of the entire Linux stack, from kernel, networking, and storage, to the application layer.
  • You will design, build and maintain solutions that will be deployed on public and private clouds and local workstations.
  • We need you to master distributed systems concepts such as observability, identity, tracing.
  • You will work with both Kubernetes and machine-oriented open source applications.
  • Collaboration is key, you will work proactively with a distributed team of engineers, designers and product managers.
  • You will debug issues and interact in public with upstream and Ubuntu communities.
  • You will generate and discuss ideas, and collaborate on finding good solutions.
The Skills and Qualifications:
  • You have professional or academic experience using Python for software delivery.
  • You have an exceptional academic track record from both high school and university.
  • You hold an undergraduate degree in a technical subject or have a compelling narrative about your alternative chosen path.
  • You are confident and comfortable speaking up, exchanging feedback, and sharing ideas without hesitation.
  • You have a track record of going above-and-beyond expectations to achieve outstanding results.
  • You are passionate about technology and have personal projects and initiatives.
  • You have a strong work ethic and confidence to shine alongside motivated colleagues.
  • You possess professional written and spoken English with excellent presentation skills.
  • You have experience with Linux (Debian or Ubuntu preferred).
  • You have excellent interpersonal skills, curiosity, flexibility, and accountability.
  • You appreciate diversity and are polite and effective in a multi-cultural, multi-national organisation.
  • You are thoughtful and self-motivated.
  • You are result-oriented, with a personal drive to meet commitments.
  • You are able to travel twice a year, for company events up to two weeks long.
